This book is a result of a cooperative effort between World Complexity Science Academy, Pontifical Catholic University of Parana and Gabriele d’Annunzio University. During the autumn of 2017 was realized at PUCUPR the course titled Law as a Global System and Systemic Lawmaking for the Situation Room, guided by Professor Andrea Pitasi.

“Besides some work in research and university extension, Professor Pitasi also gave us great lessons regarding Complex Systems Theory, Social Systems and Hypercitizenship, his main research interests. We selected a small group among the best students of the Master and Doctoral in Law Program (PPGD) of PUCPR and the course happened from April 1st to 30th.

During those classes it became clear that the content of the lessons should be organized in a book and that it would be even more interesting if the students could take part in the book by applying the concepts they had learned in the research and problems of their own interest.

The result is the book you have in your hands. Professor Pitasi’s great lessons first, then its application by very competent
graduate students.

This book is also a result of the great mutual collaboration among professors and researchers from different continents that happen in the World Complexity Science Academy and also in the profitable relationship between PUCPR and Gabrielle D’Annunzio University in our joint research projects. I hope you enjoy the reading.”
